GDay guys
Just a bit of an update.
I put a bit of the Danish oil on some today, did come up pale yellow not white. I was wondering , would applying a coat all round of oil improve the working of the wood ie reduse bust outs and smooth out routed edges?
cheers Bob

It's understatement to say that pine is common here at 53N.
We still have 18,000,000ha of standing dead timber from Mountain Pine Beetle days,
not even worth the chainsaw gas to cut it down!
I'll venture that your table is pine (at least a conifer) of some sort.
The shapes and colors of the wood & growth rings as they go around the knots make me think that way.
Unlike spruce & fir, old pine does become brittle.
