Identifying screws
I have a lot of unlabelled loose screws lying about. Is there an easy way to distinguish timber screws from masonry screws? Cheers.

Why don't you get a selection of different screws from the pile and post a photo and we can see at least some of what you have.

Masonry screws are like bolts with a very coarse thread and no point aren't they? Do you mean wood screws, sheet metal screws and machine screws? There are so many different types of screws that even with a picture it wouldn't be possible to positively identify the use for all of them as the hardness can vary depending on their intended use.

Just go to Buy High Performance Screws Bolts Fasteners and Concrete Fixings Online at Great Prices at Scrooz
They have pictures on each product page of all the types they have, and you can begin matching from there.
Anything you can't identify, do as suggested above, and post up a pic

Ive only ever needed to be screwing something like 8 , 10 or 12.7mm hoes through steel and screwing that to brick or concrete . Never needed ones that look as thin as wood screws so haven't seen many . I was given or found some thin ones that I have stashed frig knows where !
Anything thing I needed to do like nailing things to a wall I was using that Spaghetti stuff of plugging the wall with wood and nailing into that.
Some of them look similar judging by these pictures in the links.
