Internet Plans in Millimetres
I have been searching the net for plans for a sideboard and have seen some that I may use as a basis for my work, but they are nearly always American and in inches. While I could work all this out, I would prefer to buy plans in millimetres, particularly when precision is important. Can anyone suggest some good web-sites for me please?

there's so much yank stuff out there that metric plans are swamped and hard to find.

Lots of great sideboard plans out there, and be a shame to turn your back on them because they are imperial.
A few options. One is to get a quick converter. There are some around that work like a slide rule (in fact a slide rule would do it), or any calculator will work. The tricky bit of that is converting the fractions to decimals (1/8 = 0.125, etc).
Another option is to buy a rule that has both imperial and metric dimensions. Then you could work in either. Most tapes or metal rules have both, they're not hard to find.
Where precision is important, the best way to deal with it is to measure directly. For example, when cutting a drawer front, better to hold the timber up to the gap and mark it directly rather than cutting from a plan. The plan will not be as accurate, no matter what kind of dimensions they use.
Be sure and post pics along the way.
Regards,
Tex
