INVITATION to visit Boutique Timbers. NSW N Coast
Anyone travelling up the Pacific Highway around Port Macquarie over the Christmas/new year peiod (or at anytime really) is invited to Rollands Plains to visit Boutique Timbers for a cup of tea and a look around the property, and of course check out the timber.
7 days a week 7 to 7.
Turn off Pacific Highway at Telegraph Point (approx 10 kn North of the Hastings River), drive towards Rollands Plains around 12-15 km, sealed road. Turn left at Spokes Road, signposted 'Boutique Timbers' 2.5km gravel road.
If you reach the Rollands Plains showground, you have travelled 3 km too far.
Mal will be only too pleased to see you. Call on 0265 858296 to ensure he's not in town or somewhere.
Regards
Greg

Well I won't be going past this festive season, but I'll definitely drop in in the near future.
Having only just yesterday received A LOT of cedar from Mal at a very reasonable price , I'll be keen to have a look at what else he has on offer.
Santa came early for me yesterday!
I'll post some pics of the stash when I'm at home.
Boutique Timbers definitely gets a big thumbs from Me.
Thanks Greg and Mal.

As promised here is a pic of the cedar.
Ther's a bit of work to turn it into boards but I reckon I'll get a lot more than 0.25 of a cube out of it.
Cheers

Tasty
Thought termites got sick when they chewed cedar?
It's not called 'termint'

Hi Greg, thanks for the invite.
How far away is Rollands Plains from say the Gold Coast? Is it too far for a day trip from Toowoomba?
cheers

Wendy, it's roughly half way between Port Macquarie and Kempsey.

It'd make for a pretty long day trip from the Gold Coast.
Probably overnighting in Port Maquarie would be a better idea.

Thanks Craigb
And making it an overnight trip would give plenty of time to enjoy the visit and the area.
thanks

Cat nap
Ruffly, as long as you bring your cat costume, we'll even put you up at the old farm house which is sort of livable...... and feed you cat nips.
New roof, new stumps....extension to living area. Extension will be painted over Christmas, but won't have new floor finishing/carpet until next year.
(Unlike most here, I've used a builder........)
It's great......... as long as the wind doesn't blow from the north, through the piggery. We've got around 1800 acres, Mal's timber stock and logs look like New Orleans after Katrina, but the rest of the place is fine.
I'd put some photos up, but there are skills.... and there is ability..... and I know that I could get advice......but it's all a bit problematic
Regards

Darn, I knew I forgot to ask Santa for something.
thanks Greg, but no cat suit no stay I guess
I know what you mean re photos. My new camera has a few good shots but I can't yet bluetooth them to the forum until my cable arrives.
Doesn't matter how the wood looks, it will still be drooled over.
cheers

Cat suit
Ruffly,
You'd be welcome with or without your cat suit.
