Default Is there anyone who could be so kind?

Sorry if this is the incorrect place to post this, but it does say if one needs HELP to post here...

I was wondering if there would be anyone in Sydney so kind, that if I won this bid, they would pick it up and post it to me in Perth. Obviously I would reimburse their postage costs.

Have you asked the seller if he would post it?
On occasions I have asked the question of sellers and it turns out they are happy to do it.
    Cheers.

    Good idea

I just posted him a question asking whether he would post it (although it says he wont) and asking where his location in Sydney is.

Well, he says he will post it, but won't guarantee it will get to me in one piece.

Brendan has kindly offered to pick it up, but he is 40kms away from him. The fellow lives in Bondi. Is there anyone a bit closer than Brendan I can impose on?

Just be cautious though. I checked my Ebay page to see if I had won the photography book and found that I had, but right up to my max amount of $100.

Now this book is not woth $100 but I was in a hurry when I placed the bid and knowing I wouldn't be online when the bidding ended I thought I would throw up a $100 bid to make sure I got it.

On closer inspection I noticed that the other guy who had bid against me and taken me to my max bid had only registered today, had bid $250 for the book, obviously then saw my highest max bid, then cancelled his bid and then rebid the same amount as my highest bid ($100), this means i would be the highest bidder as when two people bid the same amount the first bid has priority.

This my friends, is called shill bidding and is illegal practice on ebay. I notified ebay and they responded that they will take action against the clown.

Now I had no problem paying the $100, annoyed, but no problem and had this idiot not been so greedy and only gone for $60 or so I probably wouldn't have looked so closely at the whole thing. I guess he wasn't impressed with me getting the book for $23, which is what it would have gone for if he had not shill bidded.

    So just be aware.......

Yes, I must admit to being a bit leery about the whole eBay thing. I usually don't bid until the last minute or so, and always have a definite amount in mind.

In this case I also have some comfort in that a fellow forumite is picking it up for me, so can make inspectoin at the time.

    Thanks for your advice though.

I'll pick it up for you, however I can't guarantee that I would necessarily post it over straight away, might have to try it out for a month or so

PS do you really need it?

Thanks for the offer, but has kindly offered to pick it up for me should I win it.

Do I need it? Well, I've bought a new table saw, but the mitre guage is quite wobbly in the track. I would prefer one that is more accurate, so I thought this would be a good option.
