Thread: The Jet-JWSS-10 table saw

They are very accurate and worth the money.
I love my Jet table saw with the sliding table.
The only problem?? with them that I know of is that the slot for the mortice goes on the right of the blade instead of the left and so you need to adjust Rocker's jigs accordingly.

I love mine. It is awesome. Major Woodworking sells the new European version too. You should go and see it.

I like my Jet. No problems other than the first fence slipping slightly as the timber was pushed through the blade - causing about .5-1.5mm varience in size over a metre. It was replaced quickly but this was something that takes a while to work out as you usually blame yourself for the problems.
Service excellent - great saw.

I looked at the Jet sliding saw and decided against it. I could not justify the price tag of nearly double the Jet contractors saw which I ended up with. While the sliding table would be handy I thought that a panel jig and mitre gauge could do the job just as well. Specially the panel jig.

Even at $1995-00 it is a lot of money for what you get. Look at the 10-HB sold by the regular suppliers at $1495 to $1595 including a router wing. Now that is a serious 10" saw, left and right mitre slots, excellent fence, 3 drive belts, 3 HP 240V motor and very solid. The blue colour fits in better in my shed too! Do a search on this BB for TSC-10HB to get enlightened!

I dont quite think youre comparing apples with apples. For about $1400 you can get the Supersaw without the sliding table. Talk to MWE on the price. The 10HB does not have the sliding table so I doint think its fair to add that to the Supersaw and say its expensive. I had a good look at the Supersaw and from what I saw its a well built piece of machinery. I had a Jet contractors saw and loved it. I still regret selling it.

The guys at MWE are great in my experience and I will continue to do business with them in the future. Did I mention that the Jet is white...

I have the jet supersaw with sliding table and 50" rails - works well, very solid and moves well on the mobile base. I have some issues with the sliding table - but that may be the way I set it up.
It gave the impression of solid reliability and longevity which I was looking for.
All the settings that you make stay there for repeat cuts etc, something that I wanted.
There was a review/comparison of this saw and others in the under $5K mark in the AWR a couple of issues ago.
Also if my measurements are correct - the router table/wing option should fit on the supersaw too.

Carbatec in Perth has large sliding tables for the 10HB at $595-00 which brings the total price up to $2090-00.
Maybe you are right that I'm not comparing apples with apples or shall we rather say a saw with a serious saw!

Get whatever tunes your instrument....I'm a very happy 10HB owner.

I agree with all the guys who own a Jet. Solid reliable and accurate. There's another reason I chose it over gatiep's choice. Quality. Every Jet product I have purchased has had a better finish, smoother operation etc than any other brand I've checked out. The only thing I might add to my Jet Super saw with sliding table is the new Incra Saw table TS-LS package with Wonderfence and the 92" rails if I can ever afford it. I'm very happy with the 52 inch micro glide fence supplied though. I have only two very minor regrets with my CE version - you cannot add a stacked dado blade at the moment and the Jet mortising jig won't work on it because the jig is built for the left hand mitre slot. I just added a 4 foot extension table and a Unilift for my Triton router and I have everything I need at present.

Martin , the CE version is manufactured for sale in the European Union. They have differing safety regulations. The main difference is that the shaft on the CE version will not accept a dado blade. The standard US version will. The CE version has a (apparently) better dust extraction setup.

I recently bought the sliding table CE version from Gregory Machinery at the Brisbane Woodshow for $1800. The US version was selling for $1700. I am very pleased with the Jet. The setup manual states that the blade rise/fall and tilt mechanisms are factory preset. I checked the blade on setup, expecting to have to fiddle with it (considering the long sea journey from
Taiwan) but it required no adjustments for square. I am very happy with the quality and ease of use. It certainly is streets ahead of the Triton I use to have!

Make sure that what ever table saw you get, that you get a quality blade! Gregorys threw in a 60 tooth Freud blade and I was pleased to see it left no chipout on melamine faced particle board - who needs a scoring blade?!

Graeme - the guy at Gregory said that they will shortly be offering an Aussie made replacement arbour shaft to allow people with the CE version to use a dado blade.

Talking to Ryan from Gregory's about that at the show. Think it might be my fault. I ordered(and they bought in for me ) a Freud stacked dado set at around $350. They, and I, didn't know then that they wouldn't fit. They were great about it and fully refunded on the dado. That's when i bought the triton router and the Unilift and set up the extension table. i bought the 52" rail set which gregory's also sourced for me from WA so i didn't have to wait for a container to arrive. Their customer service is brilliant. I think it's one reason i have virtually a one brand workshop. They are just so easy to deal with - and the Jet gear is great.

Only problem with using a dado or doing any sort of trenching is that you have to take out the riving knife first...
