Default JordsWoodShop.com - Thoughts and Oppinions

Hi all, I have been working on a personal project of a woodworking blog and video podcast and I'm looking for ways that I may be able to improve my website and my videos.

My website is available here http://www.JordsWoodShop.com | Woodworking Video Podcast | Wood Working Blog and Video Podcast
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I'm always looking for some fresh ideas on how I could improve something that have been hard at work on.

    Regards
    Jordan Crawford

Watch the little things to ensure your site gets maximum search engine mileage:

Spelling. You'll get more people finding the site if googleable words are correct (ie I doubt anyone will ever be googling specifically for 'oppinions', 'mixt if', 'hand tolls', 'jewelry', 'wich'.

    Ditto for run-ons - 'show.Hosted', 'ol’saying'.

Apostrophe's. If in doubt, leave 'em out. It might be wrong to not have one, but it'll be less wrong than having an unneeded one (just what does the apostrophe at the start of this para own??).

And it might be worthwhile ditching the lens hood on the camera - it is vignetting in a lot of the pics.

From what I can see from your site and modes operanti is that it is similar to the Wood Whispherer site in the USA..... May be have a look at the format there for ideas as it seems to work for him.

Best of luck with it .... I've certainly enjoyed reading your web site and videos and your review of the hafco jointer was enough for me to buy one and I'm happy with it. Although would be nice if you answered your blogs....

    Cheers

    Hi Jordan,
I enjoyed your video on box making. A nice clear presentation with some good tips in there! I am inspired to go out to the shed and have a go!
It seems that your subscribe and RSS links are broken.
Can I suggest a change of title for your iTunes videos. They all start with something like "In this video I begin..." Etc. I can't actually see what each video is about in the titles listing. See Picture below.
Keep up the good work, mate!
    Cheers,
    Steck

I second MasterSplinter's comments - you *really* need to check and correct your spelling, grammar and punctuation.

If these aren't your strengths, then team up with someone who is strong in these areas and get them to edit and proofread your articles.

I recommend reading "The PC is not a Typewriter" - an excellent book!
It describes itself as "a style manual for creating professional-level type on your personal computer!"

    Cheers,
    Andrew
