My new kitchen, done with help from this forum.
I'd like to thank the members of this forum for all the constructive advice in so many pages here. Such great advice. I've been a member for some time now, making just the odd post here and there.
But reading lots and learning as I go.
Time to say thanks, and show a bit about what I've been up to.
I built it all myself. The benchtops were purchased as laminated and sanded back to about 120. The rest is my own work.
I put a web page together with my new kitchen, it contains descriptions along the way, and 32 photos and is about 4Mb so takes a minute to load...

Here's a preview - the before and after...
I went to post this in the home renovators section but it said "You may not start new topics".

That'll be because it is now located at RENOVATE FORUM
If you have a look at the Header for that section is says this
Home Renovations now has it's own site which can be found HEREClicking on any of the links below will take you to an RSS feed from the new site, each feed will have a link in the post, back to the original Thread on the new site.
Cheers

(Mind you, I didn't think there was a lot wrong with the "before" version!)

That looks sensational. What a transformation.
To have done it all yourself is a credit to your skill and effort.
Well done.
Steven.

Great work.
Now the job is to keep it clear like that, just watch the clutter creep back in.Jim Carroll

That is a very nice kitchen Adam. I like the flow the long bench gives compared with the previous picture.

Thanks everyone for your comments, to get feedback like that from you guys is great praise indeed.

Still gotta get the coin together tho...
Though the Triton was a mistake (generally speaking), it has more than paid for itself. The planer attachment is useless for my needs and a thicknesser is the only way to go. The Triton router & router table suits my needs well, the saw bench is fiddly but does the job, the Triton power saw that is mounted in it is a rip snorter.
Yes...
Those photos were taken a while ago. The coffee machine is back in the kitchen where it belongs, along with typically 4 coffee tins with different beans that I have roasted... Mind you, apart from that and a nice wooden bread board, the benches generally stay pretty clear.
Yes, it is such an easy kitchen to work in. I've never had it so good, I like to cook but this makes it all so easy.
This morning the Hafele bus was just up round the corner from where I live, so I pulled over to have a chat. I am looking for some design for over-bench cupboards that, when opened, you can hinge the whole lot down so it can be reached by the vertically challenged.
They had a product to suit and gave me a brochure, so now I can start planning the design for the overheads above the microwave.
Mind you, I think I am going to need a nice new thicknesser for that
