Thread: Kitchen Idea

Hi folks,
I recently replaced the cooktop in our kitchen and the new one was smaller than the old one so the cutout in the bench was too big.
The Kitchen is solid Blackwood and I remembered my brother had some pieces left over from a project that he was willing to give me, so I made a blackwood Surround for the cooktop.
I think it turned out ok and the better half is happy even more importantly.
While I was at it, the top drawer under the cooktop used to be just a flat board that you could sit a pot on when you took it off the heat (useless idea I thought), so I converted it into a spice drawer. Which is really handy when you are cooking and all the spices you need are right in front of you (I like to make curries and so I use a lot of spices).
A lot of friends that have been over since have said what a great idea and now they are wanting the same thing, so I thought maybe it might be worth sharing the idea with you guys.
