    Default Knife block

I've been asked to make 2 knife blocks for a high school. Having never made one before - the plan is to laminate the blocks up from Tas oak (specified by the school) pieces that will have the slot for the knives routed in them. After some research here I've settled on epoxy for the glue and 'Foodsafe plus' by Ubeaut Finishes.

So - what brand/type epoxy would you recommend and also is foodsafe plus the only finish I need to use ? ie nothing before or after ? I'm very inexperienced with finishes and plan on buying the polishers handbook when I order the oil. But in the meantime....how do you apply the foodsafe plus ?

Anything I've missed or any wisdom to add ?

    many thanks,

    Sam

Thanks MS, I'll look into those two.
