Default Lag screws and tee nuts

I want to fasten removable legs to a "Marudai", a Japanese braiding stand. I have used lag screws and tee nuts, but would like try lag screws and screw nuts.
In the Timbecon catalogue, (page123) the lag screws are imperial and the screw nuts are metric. I rang them and that is all they have.
Does any one know if the screw nuts are available in imperial, and if so where.
Preferably in WA, but not imperative.

    Thanks
    Macca

Try a specialised bolt and nut supplier. I'm sure they will have what you want or can get it in for you.

Macca, what do you call a screw nut?

Are you referring to what I call a threaded insert, they usually have a coarse thread, or "barbs" on the outside and a machine thread on the inside. They are screwed or pressed into a hole drilled into timber, and then bolts, lag screws, or whatever can screw into the machine threads.

If this is what you're after, bunnings or your local hardware should have them in the section with other knockdown furniture fittings such as cross dowels. I'm not sure what the thread type is though.

    Good luck..........cheers..............Sean
