    Default Lifting castor

Anyone know of any heavy duty lifting castor set? Ideally would like it to be rated so 4 = 500kg capacity. Only ones I can find are:

    https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W935

    https://www.carbatec.com.au/rockler-...aster-kit-pk-4

which are pretty light duty. Want to make a mobile base for jointer

Bought one of these recently for the bandsaw. Rated 400kg. Works like a charm.

Bought two sets of the Machinery House castors, only used one set, complete rubbish, had to mod them to make them work properly.

In the wheel down position the castor has very little lift, the mount is tilted, not parallel to the floor, which gives them a direction set so you have to push very hard to steer them.

The ones to use are these but make sure that you are sitting down when you hear the price.

Nice casters, but at 500Kg per caster, is possibly overkill for a jointer.

theres no price on that website? 500kg per wheel is way overkill. the crate the jointer came on said 470kg

Woodriver, Amazon and Alliexpress sell lower rated versions of these casters a much lower prices. They work very well. I have aset on my metal milling machine stand.

What you're looking for is a lifting caster at 125 Kg. I don't think that you'll find one. It is not that the capacity can't be made but rather it is the physics of the lifting mechanism and the required weight of the bloke raising the jointer.

I have a rolling base on my Grizzly jointer / planer (thicknesser) that came from Grizzly. HOWEVER the casters aren't lifting but the base is raised by a screw foot making the machine immobile. Not ideal but it works.

My experience was different. I have two sets, one on my bench and one on my wood lathe (probably over the weight limit). Both work ok for the occasional move for cleaning. My main steering issue is wood chips on the floor.

I have a set of these on my table saw. After 6-7 years, they still work fine.

How about a smaller version of the crank jack wheels on the front ends of trailers? Maybe four of those adapted to be cranked by a drill and socket?
