Looking for somewhere local to CNC marine ply
HI all, new to the forums - followed a suggestion I found via google to post my query here.
I trying to find somewhere to cut the following design out of an 18mm marine ply sheet (apologise that the sizing is in inches - it was borrowed from the US).
Preferably looking for somewhere in Perth (NOR - I am near Joondalup) that can do it without me needing to sell a lung/other vital organ, to pay for it.
Both pieces need 5x 10mm countersunk holes down the centre and then 2x 50mm holes (as per the first pic).
I can probably get the DXF file if that makes it easier - happy to be guided on that.
Any thoughts/suggestions greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Tony.

Not sure how accurate you want but a cheap jigsaw and a sander of some description would probably be the cheapest way.
And a 50mm holesaw with a cordless drill.

Hi Tony,
I live in Melbourne, so can't tell you anything about Perth companies. However, I'll just encourage you to get in contact with a local mob or two. I held off for a while on getting anything CNC'd, assuming it'd be super expensive. In the end though, I was quite surprised with how cheap it was.
I contacted a couple of local places, asked what format they wanted drawings in, got quotes, then went ahead. They provided the material in my case. Super easy, and for what I was doing, so cheap in comparison to my time to do the work.
Good luck!

once you find a place that can do the machining, providing a vector image of the shape required will make the exercise much less expensive.
The pictures you have posed are dimensioned drawings that would need to be reproduced without the dimensions either by yourself or the person doing the CNC machining. If the latter the bulk of the quoted cost will likely be associated with preparing the drawing to guide the cutter.regards from Alberta, Canada
