We have waste transfer stations in Sydney. You dump your rubbish into a chute which leads to a trailer attached to a semi down below. The rubbish is compacted then, if the news was correct last week, it gets transported/transferred to QLD because there are lower fees or no fees in the case of recycleable rubbish in QLD.

Doesn't say on the plate on the motor anything about 3 phase, only has a 10 amp plug on it, so might just be dirty connections inside.

Sadly it's true. We get a lot of rubbish from the southern states...

Used to own a 1915 cottage in a lakeside summer resort. Monday morning garbage pick up from the weekenders.
Saw 6 x 6-panel big glass windows. Old rippled cylinder glass, even bubbles in some, 9" x 12" glass.
I know 2 guys who built replica antique china cabinets. The need matching antique glass for the doors.
Absolutely fossilized putty but I got the glass out. Got the trade price $0.50/in^2. 9x12 = $54.00 each.

If it was treated pine I might think twice about it but as it's hardwood that's exactly the plan (if it ever gets cold enough again here in Brisbane to need heating)

they tore down the house across the road and are building duplexes i think... i missed the demo (don't ask me how, i just came home from work and the house was gone haha) so didn't get anything good from that, but hoping to score some bits & bobs from the construction... even if its just some pallets or framing timber to build some storage bins or something... when they start i might wander over and say g'day and ask if its OK for me to help myself to anything in the skip...
