A couple of Andrews makes sense, but then an Andrews cycle time slows down as he gets hungry, and slows down more to watch Andreas walk past. So when considering an Andrew, consider that the cycle time averaged over the day may be considerably higher than the peak cycle time. Maybe you could pay on a piece rate, to keep the incentive up but electricity is far cheaper than Andrew Power. Electricity is about $0.20/kWhr whereas Andrew Power is about $75/kWhr. Puts the term labour cost in perspective hey?

For repetitive work (and only repetitive work) a machine will always win.

    Shannon.

Theres an old saying that seems to apply in practise
    1 boy = 1 worker
    2 boys = 1/2 worker
    3 boys = no worker

    $75 per kilowatt hr - not $75/hr

    Pay about $15/hr wages.
Say the person can put out about 0.2kW of useful energy continuously for an hour (could be more). If they do that for an hour, they have produced Power x time = energy produced (0.2kW x 1hr = 0.2kWhrs)
It will take them 5hrs to produce 1kWhr of energy, so it works out to cost you $75/kWhr.

It is kind of relevant but mostly meant in jest .
    Cheers,
    Shannon.

i have been thinking about this and have come up with a bit of an idea that would work nicely. it envolves the wood being stationary and 2 saws moving.

i reckon it could be done easily.

I know that some people use a tennoner to cut paling tops so surely it would be pretty basic to modify an old wadkin or similar to do the job
