    Default Mahogany veneer table refinished

Just refinished this table for a customer. It was painted chocolate brown. Used old Masters red mahogany gel stain and five coats of antique oil finish for the top coat. When I finished the grain started changing tones depending in the direction you are looking. Thought it looked cool, and the customer it over joyed on the outcome.

I think your restoration has recovered a piece otherwise destined for landfill.

Wow. Nice. I had that table. That exact same table. Same metal covers over the feet and everything. We tossed it out because it didn't fit our house and we couldn't find anyone that wanted it. Please tell me it wasn't worth a fortune.

Not sure how much it is worth. I may ask my customer if she would be willing to have it appraised. The leaves on this table is pealing on both sides and I will be redoing the veneer on them. I am about to start on a secretary desk from 1867 and a pedal singer sewing machine not sure what the age of it is.
