Metal to Stone
Any suggestions for the best glue to stick a metal plaque to a stone surface?
I was thinking epoxy - am I on the right track?

Epoxy sounds right, just make sure its water proof.

Araldite should do it. If you can rough up the mating surfaces so that the araldite keys into each surface.
Have a nice day - Cheers

I've had good success in sticking metal to concrete with liquid nails. It is also great for gluing together concrete.

I stuck a lead sheet 300mm x 300mm to the top of my brick chimney with Selleys Silicon exterior silicon sealant. Won't budge. Tried to prise it of with a screwdriver.

Im with sturdee and ash. liquid nails is the go. just give both sides a scuff and good clean with turps first. you can get the clear liquid nails that takes a few days to set hard and is heaps stronger than the standard yellow one

For something different, polyurethane glue could also be the go, eg. Selleys Durabond.

Have tried liquid nails for house numbers onto brick and concrete - lasted approx 5 years - the liquid nails appeared to have become powdery, the numbers fell off, - the residue of the liquid nails was easily removed with a scraper. The cause - I'm not sure - but suspect sunlight and heat transfer.
The numbers have been "reglued" using silicone - so far approx 4 years - and no sign of falling off or deterioration.
