    Default Shaped seat

    Hello,
I was going to insert this pic, which I only just took, as an edit to my post in a recent thread about shaping a seat, but too late.
I did this about 15yrs ago and I still drag it out each winter... its a fire-side stool, made from a stair tread offcut of spotted gum, with cotoneaster legs. The branched leg was a silly idea, and amounts to a three-and-a-half legged stool but I'm now glad I did it, if only to get a rise from Woodwould!!
Carved with an adze (which I made) and a Pfiel gouge. Suits me bum perfectly, not anyone else!!

    Cheers,
    Andy Mac

I'm trying to work out how they worked out where to put the indentations. I have feral images of someone bluing their nether regions and privates and sitting on a bit of wood.

Back to the thread. (say with Yorkshire accent) "Nice butt o' wark Andy!"

I really like it (well perhaps not the legs ).

It has a look of necessity about it which strikes a chord with me.

I believe, as a condition of membership of these forums, we should all have to produce a personalised Tool Stool like this and post the results.

I think you'll find that one is stamped 'Junior' underneath.
