    Default Monster log to monster "coffee" table. A process.

    This video came across my computer through the news feeds. It posed a real dilemma for me as to where I should post it. It could have gone into timber milling, but arguably not "small" or into safety as there are some very challenging practices exhibited, but in the end, not wishing to be criticised for sensationalism, I have posted here as the ultimate goal was a fine table. All the way from Vietnam:

    It is, of course, an advertisement for a company of some description. Also I don't think the workers are descendants of the chipmonks: Things are just speeded up a bit. maybe in real time the safety issues are not so extreme, but I still have to be convinced of that.

    Did anyone pick the finishing technique?

    He seemed to spray it with a lacquer, then hose it off (???), then finish sand it, then apply more lacquer. Or did I miss something?

    Maybe oxalic acid or similar to ensure a consistent colour?
    I also wondered about a degreaser. What wood is it?
