Another mortise and tenon option
What do you guys think of this one? It still looks a little fiddly but perhaps after initial setup it might be ok. $119 to Australia.

Thanks DJ. I missed this one. It seems it will do the job but I am a little deterred by the fact it is made of plastic. I am inclined to try and make a jig myself. I'll try and search for some plans.

I watched part of the tennon cutting video, it would be easier and quicker to cut with a tennon saw

For hinges, I find one of these easier and quicker than a router and template

After a little research I have decided to build these jigs myself.

I like the Lee Nielsen. Very nice.
China, very true. Practicing my saw technique would also be of benefit.

If you want to build a precision morticing jig, you can build the one that I designed. See the attached article. It takes about a day to build it, but, in my view, the resulting accuracy that you can achieve - comparable to that obtainable by using a Domino - is well worth the effort.

I forgot to mention that the dial gauge for measuring the fence position on my jig is not essential. You can measure the position of the fence accurately by using an electronic caliper to measure the distance between the static block and the fence block on the jig. If you do without the dial gauge, my jig can be made at minimal cost from offcuts of hardwood and MDF.
