All done and working well, gave it a stress test with a 400mm lens and used the camera body's mount.
    Apologies for the rubbish pic.

All went well over there, my brother was happy with the motorised head but just as I was about to head over he decided he wanted a portable macro rig so he ordered some bits and we got building. It used the same timelapse controller from the previous one I built but as I threw out my schematics it took a bit of time to work out plug connections for the motor and limit switches, I was also relying on the local version of Jaycar for a lot of parts but they all closed down just before I arrived so bits had to be purchased online which was very frustrating.

The light on the front is for a CNC, it is 24V so it needed a DC-DC convertor, it puts out a nice shade of white light and means you don't really need to use the floodlights for shots at 1X and maybe 2X. Assembly wasn't quite as straight forward as expected as adding the head meant some screws could not be tightened so I went out and bought a shiny new Bosch router and made a couple of mods to make it all work. Oh I did have to get a soldering iron too as trying to wire Amphenol LTW mini plugs is a nightmare with a cheap misused soldering iron, it was impossible to tin the tip.

Not sure why I didn't get a finished photo with the wiring in for the limit switches and light. The controller had to be mounted to the rig as my brother struggles to hold something in one hand and use his other one at the same time, something like that anyway. Also made new buttons of different heights as he was miss hitting the others. He initially asked if the buttons could be relocated but I said no, hated assembling that damn thing and making the case, hahaha!

First test shot with a dog running around shaking the camera and too little rest time between movement and taking shots, it was also in a bay window so the light was changing constantly. 15 stacked images combined to make one, normally you'd do thirty or so but this was just a test run.
