Default Nice dark wood for hall table?

I'm planning to build a hall table. I have some beautiful camphor slabs for the table top, and the drawer fronts, but I need a good timber choice for the main frame, drawer structure and legs of the table. I want something that will look nice, but not detract from the camphor. Something that's available in Brissy.

I will probably finish the frame in matt poly, and do the camphor in danish oil.

    Any recommendations?

I guess it is a matter of taste and of course everyone will like something a bit different. If it was me and had enough wood I would go all camphor. If you do use another wood for the legs then pick something plain looking so as not to clash with the nice figure of the camphor. You could have a brouse around your local timber place to get insperation.
As to finish I would use the same finish all over. Danish oil is fine but use what you like best.
    Regards
    John

Sound like Jarrah may be good for this. Check out Rose Gum if it is available at your local timber yard, sometimes it is also quite dark, but still lighter than Jarrah. All-camphor option as suggested by John can also look excellent, maybe even better than Jarrah!

New Guinea Rosewood - should be readily available in Brisbane, nice and stable, should be a good contrast with the camphor laurel without being too boldly different...............(or I could sell you some Queen Ebony .......when I'm home again in about 3 weeks, I bought some from Brian Christie when he was home at Christmas but have more than I'm likely to need)
