Does anyone know where the Scheppach Planner/Thicknesser Jig can be purchased in Aust. Carbatec no longer have them and my search so far has run into a brick wall.

    Cheers

Try Hare & Forbes. They are the new retailer for Scheppach.

OK - you've got my curiosity all fired up now - what's this jig for??? I inherited a Scheppach Planner/Thicknesser from my old man - gotta know if there's any add-on toys for it!!!

The planer/thicknesser jig allows you to resharpen your, yes you guessed it, jointer and thicknesser blades. I don’t have the Scheppach but I have the Tormak which is a bit more expensive. I think it is great. I am now able to resharpen my joninter/thicknesser blades every 6 to 8 weeks. Actually I just used it yesterday. It was a big investment in the begining but you will get your money back eventually.

Both the Scheppach and Tormak have 2 models, a smaller and a bigger one. The plane jig will not fit the smaller models so make sure you have the bigger one.

    Wongo

Does that go for all the jigs or just the Planer blade , I was looking at getting the smaller Scheppach while it was on special at H&F

While Tormek recommend the larger model for sharpening planer blades the jig also works on the smaller model as do all the jigs

Growing old is much better than the alternative!
