Default What do you do with offcuts...?

i managed to scrounge/retrieve/recycle a couple of nice pieces of Ash offcuts from a building site dump bin. They measure about 270x50 and are about 800mm long. Too nice and too good for the Coonara but along with other such pieces, they now live in the shed but im not sure what to do with them.

i have an interest in boxes and chessboards and gave thought to using them there. Any ideas?

There's a few small platters or winged bowls in those, pen blanks, handles, candle sticks for the turners, boxes or even coffee table/occasional table tops for the flatties . . . plenty to play with and get back to the building site and see if you can score any more.

i have decided, when i find a suitable piece of dark timber, to turn it into the 'white' half of a chessboard. Ive never made one but i like them a lot, dont know why, i just do. Oh, i do play BTW. Thanks for your insights. Cheers.
