Overthinking
I'm about to install drawer slides, the holes in the slides are m4. Do i really need to use m4 screws will 3.5 do? pan head looks nicer but i've often seen countersunk head screws used are there pro's and con for which is the right screw for the job? i did say overthinking from mr worry to much!!!

Pan heads will probably foul the slide. Countersunk will clear the slide and self align in the hole. I'm guessing you have pan head on hand and want to use what you have. try them out. If they fit

I use 8g pan head into the draw and 6mm CS system screws into the carcase.

Unless the holes are PERFECTLY aligned, the counter sunk type heads will align the drawer slides to the holes. You will not be able to use the over size holes in the drawer slides to align the drawers.
