Making Painted Metal Smooth - Less Friction
I have had a larger top for my Scroll Saw made out of steel and I have painted it.
the problem is that it is now harder to move the mdf I am cutting on the table.
I have tried sanding it with 400 grit but it doesnt seem to help too much. Anyone got any other ideas that wont effect the MDF once it is painted?

Funnily I tried that, reduced the paint to a slurry. But the zinc half underneath was fine and smooth. So In a round about way it worked

First thing to do do is remove the paint have a look at other exmaples of schroll/jig saw's table saw's, bandsaw's etc.
they are all not painted there is a reason for that
