the perfect sanding tool for cove work
Most of us have this woodworking toll in out automotive department.
I need to sand too many cove / radius features on some red oak table legs, 48 of them to be exact.
Like most I hate sanding but I also hate myself after a ton of work to make something and not sand it proper before finish.
This tool from my socket set helped a bunch maybe it can help you too.
Pictures are shots of the coves on the legs , each leg has 12.
the other pictures are from my socket set. A correctly sized deep socket in this case with a 1/2 inch OD fit the need.
Add a little sandpaper with double sided tape or the adhesive backed stuff. Add a socket extension of any length to assist hold and control and sand away.
The pics should help the story ask any questions.

Are you sanding across the cove or rolling the socket to keep the scratch pattern with the grain?
A suggestion. To use two hands one could take a piece of hex stock to fit in the other end of the socket or lock some nuts on all thread.

Nothing like old fashioned practicality.
