Pipe clamps in Perth
Hello,
I have bought the clamp ends and can easily pick up the pipe and get it cut but where can I get the pipe threaded? Anyone have a good idea of where I can get this done easily somewhere in Perth?
I can't see the point of buying a pipe threader for such minimal use and I don't know anybody who has one although I've tried.
Cheers!

Go to one of the larger plumbing supply companies or even find a local plumber, also security fencing suppliers or rural fencing suppliers, they all deal in threaded gal pipe. Any company specialising in fire sprinkler systems have to use gal as the supply lines.
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

You don't need a pipe threader, you can do this with a 3/4" bsp die. Search eBay. Here is an example supplier... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/4004...=ps&dispItem=1

I think he was hoping to not have to pay that sort of money.
Also a die alone will not do it - a die holder is essential to start the thread straight and also to keep it cutting. A bloke at the mens shed made a die holder but I have yet to see it cut a nice thread on a 3/4" pipe.

Yes, I KNOW a die stock (the usual term for a die "holder") is needed. I was expecting the OP's level of knowledge would be sufficient that he realises the die doesn't turn itself. The type of die stock can vary depending on the shape of the die.
Perhaps a men's shed facility could thread the pipe or offer the use of suitable equipment (if available of course) to do so. Purchasing a die provides the owner with the ability to thread as many pipes as needed, now and in the future, and we all know you can never have too many clamps
If all else fails, the op can contact me (after Monday the 28th) about the use of my die AND die stock. I will add another reply the the original post advising this offer. He will need to supply the "elbow grease"Kind Regards
