oh wow 3m of 12mm rod is only $11. I never new this existed.

Do you guys think I should also have a horizontal stretcher (with theaded rod) for the bench seats too? And get rid of the middle 'X'. It would probably be easier for me to make too.

Also, interms of levelling the feet - any tips? It will be outside and the floor may not be completely flat. I dont really want it to rock - are there threaded feet are height adjustable that can be used or is there a better method?

I hadn't even looked at your bench till now .
I would make some changes there as well . The rising to the middle stretchers wont do you any favors on uneven ground. If there were a lower point in the floor it would flex down and spread the ends. Or a high point and will pivot and rock on the middle.

I think Id bring the ends legs in some if its flex in the top seat will allow that . And just have two legs. And have a center stretcher parallel with the top . With the rod through the middle if you want but you could get away without it with the right design changes . And two more strechers directly under the seat. maybe going out to the ends of seat for the flex because of the over hang. . I would wait and see how it works on the ground rather than fit fiddly adjustable things . When its moved the adjustment will not be right any way . long things like this will flex and sit right with a few bottoms holding it down .

Check some of these. They don't have the X but you could use some of these ideas and add the X onto the ends as applied decoration or call it applied bracing ? Just so they tie in with the table a bit .

The last one has its third leg. Not great on uneven ground I think .
