    Looking good,

I noticed in the background the old fibre sheeting, if its older than 1987 its quite likely to have asbestos in it.

So just be wary if you drill holes into it, if running pipework outside or if you accidentally break it.

Thanks for the tip, I suspect as much unless told otherwise, which is why my woodrack is designed to be freestanding. House was built in the 60s, not sure on the shed. I'll see if I can get a hold of some older satellite images to see when it popped up.

I know the shed is pretty pissweak compared to what I've seen in photos here and vids in youtube, but it's the best I can do for now. I'm in a rented house on a street where townhouses are popping up all over so it's only a matter of time until the owner subdivides it and rebuilds. The floor is uneven pavers, and I costed relevelling but decided against it for fear of disturbing the walls. I've even costed building a new shed... but unless I can easily take it with me, it's not worth the investment at this stage. Better to put it towards a deposit for a block or more machinery. Is there any recommended coating to ameliorate it's toxic potential?

The garage that I was using has asbestos and I looked into what I could do. There are special paints that can be used to seal the asbestos. As the building was mostly painted I ended up using just using what I had in the shed. The main thing was not to put a hole in the sheeting. There was an area that had a crack and I ended up using tar back foil sheeting on both sides to stop it from falling apart. It has held up very well.

The key, is not disturbing the asbestos,

In theory a coat of cheap white paint would stop any fibres, thats only my opinion, I'm not a licensed asbestos expert.

I've know two people that have died from this product, both in there early 50's (both striped out a house in the 80's)

Just though id put it out there, as i have seen the long term results.

Its a tough one, as you are renting, id personally just buy a can of cheap white paint and roll it on, (all loose fibres should in theory stick to the paint.)

Just had my roof cavity inspected for asbestos as per a Govt directive on all houses in my area built prior to mid 1970s. Must be inspected and can't sell without a certificate. Got an impressivive 8 page report back including colour photos and a lab. report on samples taken.. All clear
