Redgum surfboard mailbox
A friend wanted something quirky for his mailbox. Him being an old surfie, i came up with this.

I love it.
Did you make a spare in case another one or two are needed?

That really looks great. Wicked idea. I could see a lot of people wanting football shaped ones

You came up with a great idea and finished it really well.
Some might say (as they say) its a waste of redgum. Imagine how many pepper grinders you could turn from that piece?

It is beautiful but like Sawdust says, I would be game to leave it outside unless there is 100kg foundation underground

Novel Mailboxes
Surfboard mailbox,- WOW !! what an excellent idea. Can just imagine every surfie in the country wanting one made !!!
You may be onto something new and novel here !!!
Although you may not be alone in making Novelty Items, as got asked some months ago by someone from Adelaide me for a Mailbox in the shape of a Football, and by another guy, who asked about a mail box in the shape of a Boat,- but as yet neither one has come back with the exact dimensions of what they are seeking, for, as I said to both guys, " once I have the dimensions, / specifications, then I can make the shape to suit " !!!
** This evening I got asked for a quote to design and make a HQ 4 door Monaro - shaped Clock for a birthday present,- now that's different !!!!
At least being Custom Made in Australia is heaps better than being mass-produced in China, or somewhere,- better quality, and best of all the money STAYS here in Australia !!

Thanks for all the kind words. I did keep the template for future reference and fear not there was plenty of offcut for pepper grinders. Stay tuned i might have another couple of quirky ones on soon.
