Removing pitch from circular saw blades
Can anyone give me any info on removing pitch on circular sawblades. I usually soak them overnight in petrol and them scrub them with a nylon brush but what other options or products are available?

Pitch Rx is magic, available from Gregory Machinery. I also have used Oomph with success , available from Bunnings in their cleaning products aisle. It is a weak citric acid formulation.

Caffeine is a known solvent for pitch/resin and I have used it on chainsaw chains.
Caffeine is not completely extracted by quality well setup coffee machines so I get the used coffee grounds from my espresso machine and make up a brew by soaking them in hot water for a few minutes and then pouring that onto the chains - next day the pitch just brushes of with a stuff brush.

I have found that normal mineral turps made my blades clean. I have heard oven cleaner works but the turps works for me and is safer.
My age is still less than my number of posts

Diesel or turps work, diesel is probably better. The oily residues will also prevent rust in storage.
