You should "prep" the artists brushes as if you were doing watercolors and needed to paint some rubber 'resist' on the paper for later removal.
1. Presoak the brush in plain water for 15-20 minutes. This puts water into the bristles inside the ferrule so the glue can't soak in there.
2. Couple of quick scrubs on a bar of regular bath soap. The glue won't stick to the brush.
I used to buy the glue in 3 liter jugs and soak blanket pieces in buckets of it to make hard costume mask parts for theater.
Stuff I made, some 25 years ago is as good as new. I'm so pleased that it's hard to get off.

For those who use brushes to spread glue.
Go to the supermarket, cooking utensils, find a silicone basting brush. These are cheap, can be cut to various widths if necessary and last for ages. Over the years I have used almost everything from my finger to spatulas to “proper” glue spreading tools. The best of that whole lot was the basting brush and for getting into tight spaces when something stiffer is required the long thin coffee stirring sticks from places like Starbucks.Regards,
Bob

The thing that I like about artist's brushes is that you can pick one that is the right size for spreading glue inside a domino slot and also use it to do the edges of the board.
Titebond lll that has been attacked by PVC primer stays rubbery and doesn't harden up again.

Bohdan, the PVC primer is an excellent discovery!

If, like me, you prefer a spatula you may be able to find silicon kitchen tools that have flat surfaces that you can cut to size & shape.
