Review - Makita 18v Li-Ion Cordless Drill Kit
Hi all,
Just finished a review of the Makita BDF452HW 18v Li Ion drill kit.

Good review Dean. I think the reason memory effect is so contraversial is that it does exist but is often not experienced in in power tools unless you run a NiCd down to the same point each time before recharging. I experienced it on a drill when I used the drill until it lost power each time. Did not experience it when I charged it after use (but not flat). Presumably i was randomising the level to which the battery had been used.
NiMh self discharge more rapidly than NiCd when not in use. better performance makes them ideal for a heavy user but not for a casual user who might go a week or so without using the drill. They also have fewer recharge cycles than NiCd. It doesnt really matter and does not effect your review - go Lithium.

I have the Li-Ion screw driver, its from the same series as that drill.
I have one quibble with it... the white ain't white any more looks horrid!....................................................................

Dean, is the charger universal for input voltage or do you require a step down transformer?
