I think I’ll stick with tradition and flatten them with a water stone. Pumice is a kind of water stone isn’t it? Bit like sharpening, spend lots of money over time on paper for scary sharp system or spend it once on a stone that lasts a lifetime. $3 for a pumice stone at Priceline seems reasonable for the heels.

If you have an angst about cost, one can use old pads, or even current ones!
After you change from 80 to 120 while sanding your next fine box or credenza, give your feet a blast first!!!
