Best router for under table use ?
Hey Guys. I'm looking at up-grading the router on my router table. Currently using a smaller sized plunge model Makita that only takes 1/4" bits. I'd like to move up to 1/2" with more power and adjustable speed control, as the one I have is 'Flat Strap' all the time, ha ha. Most of the work I do is clock making, box's, picture frames, and the occasional small table or cabinet. Thanks for any recomendations fellers.

For under table use, on this planet there is no choice or decision to be made. You don't have to look, investigate or ask. Just get the Triton. It deals with and solves all of the problems that you might encounter with other routers since it was designed from the beginning to be used upside down. Perhaps other routers may be better in other applications but for router table use there is no competition.

Many thanks fellers for the advise. Looks like I'll be adding a Triton to my shopping list when I go to the 'Timber & Working With Wood' show in Brisbane in May. Cheers.

I have the Triton router aswell. The advantages are that you can change bits from above the table and you can adjust the height with a turn of a knob. My first router was a Hitachi and it was such a pain changing router bits and raising/lowering the router. The Triton makes it so easy and enjoyable to use.
