Question Router Table in Extension With of Table Saw

Hello from the other side of the planet! I've been reading posts for a few weeks now and thought I give posting a try. I've really enjoyed reading about some of the different woods and power tool used in Australia (makes me feel guilty about the number of power tool stores near my house). This board seems to be a great resource with lots of helpful folks.

    Anyway.....on to my question:

I'm building a router table extension wing for the right side of my DW746 Table Saw (DeWalt - not sure if they are available in Australia). How far from the edge of the router mounting plate or router bit (I can measure it either way) should I place the miter track?

Also, if any one has mounted a router extension wing of their table saw, I would appreaciate any tips on how you attached it to the saw. Thanks.

Welcome from the right side of the planet. Hope you enjoy your stay.

I don't know about your model of TS but it is probably similar to the ones we have. If so, my post on how to attach my Triton router table to the TS might help you. Whilst your router table would be different the method would be similar.

G'day Bfrink, how the heck are ya?
there's a few mentioned around here all seem to be fairly similar, and I'd link a few for you but this computer is missing a few bit's of script so if you have a look around there are a few good pic's of some of them, I seem to remember Dereks' being easy to look at
