    Default rustic picture frame

8 years ago SWMBO purchased the materials and design for this quilted picture when we spent some time in Canada and put the picture together together within 12 months of our return. It has only taken me seven years to get around making the frame for it from an old jarrah fence post.

I collected the post back in 2013 during a visit to some farming friends of ours down south and it lay in the carport up until a couple of weeks ago. The fencepost has been ripped into quarters on a BS and then thinned down to a thickness of ~25 mm. It's dowelled together at the corners but I did add some metal corner brackets on the back for extra strength. It looks like it would be quite heavy but it's not as heavy as it looks.

SWMBO is well pleased and now tells me she has another one she is working on. Must all get around to the frames from the all the pictures we collected during a 2002 sabbatical in Europe.

Looks great. Remind the wife that when a man says he is going to do a job he does not need to be reminded about it every six months.

I think it would have been about 1 reminder per year so not too bad. During the last year I mentally sort of committed to have it done by her next birthday which was 2 weeks ago.

The frame really suits the picture.

So it was done on time, possibly even ahead of time!

As others have said, the frame and picture match superbly.
