Did the nails come with the gun or purchased separately?
There are 2 different nails "c1" and "c" check the instruction manual to make sure which one it uses and check which ones you are trying to useThe person who never made a mistake never made anything

I have a Porter-Cable nail gun that will jam if not oiled. Just three drops of oil before use and three drops after lunch. (Every 4 hours is heavy use.)

it sounds like wrong size nails.

You don't say which size gun you brought as there are a number of models in that Airwave style.

As the others have said are the nails right. My airwave is a c series so takes c nails but reading the book is always a good move. I got mine just last year and before that had never used one so did some research first. All sorts of how toos on youtube. Got it as I was doing a lot of skirting and stuff in the house and it was a reasonable price. Rennos all done and I am still finding it a handy tool to have.
Regards
John

I have a Ryobi Airwave DA nailer.
1.a. Obviously this must have DA nails in it.
1.b. The nailer needs a few drops of oil before each use.
2. It is supposed to work with DA nails over 50mm however I find that these easily jam in the cheap Ryobi air tool. I suspect you have a similar problem. I figure you get what you pay for and I stick to the smaller sizes up to 50mm.
If I have to fire 60mm+ nails I hold the nailer very hard against soft wood and I try not to do too many. It just isn t a good enough tool for these IMHO.
3. It can jam sometimes when you get to the end of a nail packet and start a new nail packet in the spring loader without reloading. but this rarely happens to me. By that I mean when you combine parts of packets into the spring loader. I make sure I cut the glue holding the nails together off cleanly at the ends so that they feed in between packets seamlessly. I suppose you could just feed and completely finish each packet before loading a new one.
4. Personally after use I remove all nails and check the chamber is empty before putting the nailer away.
5. I suspect that too many jams could damage the mechanism at the firing end which in turn would result in more jams. I visually check this to make sure everything looks to be a good fit.
I hope that helps.

This may sound dumb. Some of the nails here in the US have half heads. I always load my PC with the half head toward the open side of the nail tray.

My local Bunnings has a few ex-Tradies in the Tool Shp and Plumbing areas.... and they are very well informed and very helpful.

You just need to get the right person.
My favorite is asking for something like hook hinges to see if they know what they are and where to find them. Another one is ask for a star picket driver.
Today I asked for eye nuts and got the puzzled look. They are with the chain fittings near eye bolts.
