Default the way the sand paper spins

Just a simple question, please ?Can you use belt sander, sand paper, and cut it into circles to use on a disc sander ?Reason is, I can purchase 300mm wide belt sander paper cheaper and easier than I can purchase the 300mm disc’sBut just in the back of my mind, remember something, there is something about sandpaper that disc sander paper is glued differently than belt sand paper.Any ideas pleaseKel

I would think that you could, but try it out to see. It'll cost you in blades or scissors though.

How do you cut your discs out? The Woodfast combo' machine I'm restoring has an 11" disc sander fitted, so I'll have to cut down 12" ones, as I can't find the 11" ones anywhere.

I made a circular cutter from a piece of heavy pipe, hard faced the edge, had it ground on a lathe, now I just place it on the paper grit side down, tap around the edge with a soft face hammer
you could just make a circular template and cut around it with a stanley knife

These would be pretty close https://www.thesandpaperman.com.au/2...-sanding-disc/
