    Default Score of the week

I was offered and I accepted and circa late 60's Silky oak cot. It was either me take it or council clean up due t cannot be sold as doesn't fi the legal requirements of cots these days. gratiously accepted and will probably make a jewellery box as a little thanks, and to keep the heirloom thing happening. The cot was given to me by the person who was in the cot when she was little, so being able to keep some of it jut in different form will hold special meaning. Apparently I'm in line to take a silky oak bed frame next....... lovin every minute of free beautiful timber.

Following up on this score, came another score (posted : Score of the century), I met the mum of my friend who's cot this was. Interestingly not only my friend and her siblings were in this cot, Lo and behold, sonwas her mum. So when I was thinking this timber is from a cot circa 1960's/70's, it's actually, over 70yrs old, so circa 1940's. And for those not up to speed, here are 2 finished items from said cot with a 3rd in progress (box: sorry no sneak peeks).

The third project will be posting in the box making section.

I think that comes from to quote Neil aka Dai Sensei that turners are tight fisted and don't like to pay up!! But as you can see I don't need to pay up. But do when I need to, hey Neil (hahahaha, happy client).

i do actually have to stop collecting as my single garage is getting dangerously full. Dangerous as I'm tripping over things stepping past all the timber. Clean up on Father's Day after Futsal. And Neil, if u do read this, I will get project number 3 out of the way and then attack the castings you did for me.
