Searching This Site
I see a few people criticised for not searching this site prior to posting and some of those replying that they could not get the search to work the way they want. There is a facility on Google in ADVANCED SEARCH that allows a specific URL to be searched using all Google features such as search within results, with and without key words etc. Go into advanced search and in the domain box paste the url of the site you want to search. Hope this helps those who have trouble using the inbuilt search facility of this site.

That's a great tip, Mini. Much more powerful search engine.
For example, if you want to search for examples or comments about benches, as in the sitting on type, the search function in the bulletin board will bring up all the posts on work benches. But in Google, you can just bring up the posts with bench without work. Could also then search within results for garden, etc.
I will definitely do this from now on. Excellent suggestion.

All good and valid points. There is no need to use Google if you are happy with the search function within the forum. The Google search can be used for any site not just this one.

Point is, the google site search capability (especially if you are using the Google Toolbar) is an excellent tool, especially on sites with no, or a very poor search function.
Pity Sensis don't use it - the white and yellow pages suck."Clear, Ease Springs"

Many of the people who're criticised obviously haven't even tried a search of any description.
But that's a good idea on how to refine the search more accurately, Mini. Many's the time I've used this forum's Search Engine and been overwhelmed with results. I've often wished that I could apply a 2nd search to just those results, to refine the results further instead of having to start a whole new search process.
