Seniors moment - need help identifying strongly scented wood
I did know it but for the life of me can’t remember what it is - I milled a heap of it from some old timber that I bought from a mate and am giving these pieces to another mate to use for fly rod handles (along with some huon pine, celery top pine, scented rosewood and queen ebony blanks) - but would like to be able to tell him what it is.
Perhaps the most telling/identifying thing that I can tell you about this timber is that when being worked it has a very strong and (to me) pleasant scent somewhat similar to linseed oil
