    Yes it is, Macca.

Google should be your friend on this one.

    Hey Eddie,
What an interesting site, I spent about an hour browsing through the tips page and found it very informative, plus learned a little more about my hobby. Thanks and a greenie to you!...

Eric - Sharpening the rim with dremel as shown in the first site I looked at seems cumbersome to me. If you have plain old carbon-steel bits, the rim is easily done hand-held, with a scraper. Sharpen the end of an old triangular file, or grind the tip of an old chainsaw file to a tapered three-sided point. It takes about a minute to do a large bit, but be careful - the rim gets quite sharp as you scrape! The cutting flutes are easy to tackle with a fine flat file. The point should'nt need to be touched.

Been sharpening my Forstners for more years than I can remember - it's the flutes that wear most - they would need touching-up 3 or 4 times to any rim treatment.

    Cheers,
    IW
