Silverglide has changed?
Went to a local shop today to buy a tin of Silverglide to try out and was told by the owner that he had a bunch of customers returning it claiming that since it has started being made in Australia recently, instead of Germany, its consistency and performance has declined. He also tried on his own gear and didn't like it (after previously loving it) and returned all of his shop stock.
Has anyone experienced the same thing with a recent purchase that they can compare with a previous one?

Yes, i have a newer tin and it didn't seem the same. Got hot in transit and the top section was all liquidy so i just put it down to that.
Still, doesn't seem right...

Silverglide has changed
I bought a tin from Carba-tec about six months ago. Being curious about the post saying the new stuff is made in Australia, I checked my tin and it had no information on it where it was made. How will we ever know?

My tin says "Silber Gleit" on it.

Silbergleit is German for silverglide so that sounds promising.

Wait till I get the tin. Yes only inside of the tin. Not sure if it is the tin rusting or the past discolouring.
I am learning, slowley.

It dosen't look good. I purchased it from a store in Braeside for $25. I would not use it on my saws now. I tried to stir it up and it looks like it is not rusting the tin but it is discolouring and looks nasty. I have only used it once. Not impressed. I never noticed that the made in Germany was texted over.
I am learning, slowley.
