sliding draw rails - help!
Just spent two hours trying to fit 500 mm sliding draw rails to a kitchen island bench - and still did not succeed. Some instructions form the manufacturer for my $28-00 would be greatly appreciated. Thes slides have three components on each side and it is finding the correct height and position for attaching to the bench that is causing the problems. I seem to be guessing, rather than having a system. Can anyone help?

I know it sounds patronising , but I reckon you should go to the place you bought them and get a photocopy of some instructions from a new set as all brands are different as to hole placement and other dimensions. Ask the store to photocopy if they won't give you a full set.
If the manufacturer has website they often put fitting instructions up for download so you could look on the net as well.

sliding drawer slides - help!
Show picture if possible picture of drawer slides for identification. I'm just in process of fitting three section slides to vanity unit. There are other guys who have also done this work and one of us will be able to help if we know the type of unit you are using

Thanks for your interest fellas. I have 500 mm Full Extension Howard Silvers drawer slides. I just visited the Howard Silvers website and found a diagram with fitting measurements on it, but I am not sure if it is exactly the same product. (http://www.howardsilvers.com.au/prod...8202_i_thm.jpg) It seems to tell me I can fix the rails to the cabinet 43 mm above the base height of the drawer. This diagram was not in the packet.

drawer rails
Seems the rails shown have angle support under drawer. If so measure how much side support protrudes below rail under drawer and give enough space when fitting side support to clear bottom of carcase. Hope I've made myself clear

Hey Gilbo
I"m a Fan of spending 4 day making and fine tuneing a Jig to help me save 3 min on installation. I us a Jig like this to install my Blum slides. The Full Ext sliders I use are three part types that slide into each other and do not have the bottom lip to hold the drawer so i just cut wooden spacers that help me place the slides. Here is a simple drawing of how you can make a jig to hep you install your sliders. Make it to match your sliders. I took the image off the link you posted so it will give you a good ideal of what you need.
Make a simple "T"-square jig that will set flat aginst your face fram. The holes spacing should be the same as the spacing of your slides (cabinet side). Dont try to drill using this just. just us it for marking with a hole punch.
Hope this helps.
