It looks like a Gilbro which I had for a few years before up-grading. They were made in Preston, Melb.

Yes, a 4.5inch Gilbro. Often found as a combo setup with a 10inch tilt top table saw and jointer set in a pressed metal frame with a double ended GMC Cadet motor mounted underneath, driving the saw from one end of the motor and jointer from the other. The saw could include a detachable horizontal dowelling table on the outside as well, with a dowelling bit chuck that screwed onto the saw arbour. The dowelling bit height above the dowelling table was adjusted by the lade height control. Original paint was a mid blue hammertone with a red swing out (lamb chop) guard over the jointer cutter block and a red insert plate in the saw table and cast allow blade guard mounted from a bracket at the outfeed end of the table for the sawblade. I have a complete setup in storage at present.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

Gilbro Super Smoother - 4" Jointer - Manual Wanted

This is a thread from a few years ago that might give you more info. It has not pasted in as a link but if you do a search using "Gilbro machinery" you should find it.

    Hi folks

I am restoring one of these at our Men's Shed. It did not come with a motor so I have bought a new one but I am now trying to find out what size the pully on the original motor is.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
