Where do I start
My wife has given me a almost impossible task My little Darling would like me to build love- garden seat you know the ones that hang and swing . Where do I start I have no idea . I do have 4 treated coppers logs aprox 2.4 mtrs by 150mm What more do I need . The swing will only be big enough for the two of us. Romantic hey . First timer ourplace

Could be that an immortal of the threads will find a better place for this thread like under general woodworking. Anyway as for us mere mortals Norm the amateur woodworker built one a few years back and you should be able to find it somewhere on the NYW website:

I would start by heading to my nearest Big W or Bunnies......they can be bought for under $200 from memory.
That way you not only save the wood but also the heartache.

If you can find somewhere that sells something you like the look of (eg Bunnings - but more likely a garden centre) then study it and see how they've done it.
They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian. They're not laughing now.

These are normaly listed as porch swings, if you google on Porch swing plans (located above the tread) you will find heaps of people selling plans and some free ones.
