    Default Stunned Wood Workers

Got to Sturt Wood School today had headed down for the afternoons hand Cut Dovetails demo but went early

Came across some stunned woodworkers in awe of a piece on display.

Thanks to Uncle Al for taking the photos he could move quicker and get better shots.

Can honestly say never seen these blokes lost for words before.

Phoebe gave us an excellent tour of the cabinet with plenty of background info on the design and construction. We had only asked her to close the doors so we could see the timber.
I thought her dovetail presentation was great as well. Had a good day at Sturt.

    If I'd known I was sitting among forumites at Pheobe's dovetail/shovetail demo, I would've said g'day - I tend to lurk about
Think I was sitting on the right of the gent in the pic above wearing the white shirt, and behind right of the bloke in the orange one.

A lovely day at Sturt today, a bit on the hot side, but it is summer, after all. The tool cabinet is simply stunning, as are most of the items on display in the gallery. It was nice to meet up with half a dozen forum friends, plus a few from the Sydney Woodturners Guild.

Unfortunately, I had to leave early from Phoebe's dovetail demonstration, I hope it all came together nicely for her.

    Hi Leanne,
Yep, that was ME handing and receiving part-cut dovetails on your left! Likewise I wish I'd known!

    Hello boys
    Leanne

Yes only one fellow wore his WWF shirt and was sitting almost in front of you.

Mean while I was the one who rolled into the shade and Sue knitting behind me.

Uncle Al thanks to Ann for taking Sue to Victoria House was a good break for her and for you watching over me while she was gone.

Get Brett 10klms outside of Katoomba and he always looks overwhelmed!

Thanks to Fletty for asking Phoebe to close the doors so we could see the grain. Thanks to Phoebe for taking us through the cabinet and thought processes when fitting it out. A great day out.
