Are you saying that all that detail is under the foot where no one will see it?

If you build another one, create a video of the build process. Including the metal work. It would be fascinating to some of us.

I did make a video once, time lapsed with a 12 minute guitar solo.
    It was viewed 3 times.

    Hahaha
Well I guess one does need to advertise it's presence. Hopefully in future it would attract a lot more attention.

You could be right about the interest in this stuff but i think we are interested in the thought and the build process you have used to create such a great looking piece.
I might be wrong but are some parts factory made like the housing with the series of bolt holes in your last photo's and also the foot on the base looks factory, is that exhaust flex in the cut-out in the leg, i can see housings from a old gearbox on 30yo washing machines usable for this.
Could you share with us what machines you have in your shed to create this wonderful thing.
    I know i'm a nosey bugger i can't help it.
    Great work. Cheers Whitey

Do you have a plan or do you make it up as you go?

I had a fair idea what I was aiming for.
    Inspiration was from the Ictineo

Correct on the exhaust tube inserted in the cutout.
The base foot is a truck mudguard pole bracket hacked up and a Harley gearbox cover cut down is the "housing" you speak of.
I just use basic hand tools.

    Thanks for the interest.
